West Nile virus is in town. Nothing like a new infection to sweeten the attraction of public. Maybe we better check in with Dave and Connie:
One thing Connie knows about herself is the way she feels when she wakes up in the morning, pretty much is how she'll feel throughout the day. She woke up this morning in a funk. Dave caught this right away and tried to lift her spirits by making her breakfast of eggs, fresh fruit and a rose from their splendid garden. Connie put out a smile and told Dave how sweet he is but she was still running the story through her mind that her cousin Randy told her yesterday. Seems Randy's wife has been concerned about her sister, who was fired from her job at KUNN TV in Eureka three years ago. Lillian, Randy's wife, went to her sister's aid by flying to Eureka and restructuring her checking and savings accounts. This was augmented by Lillian moving some CDs into her sister's account. But Randy, who was quite comfortable with all of this couldn't understand why Lillian was so depressed long after her sister was rehired and checked-in less frequently with Lillian but showed all the signs of getting her life back on track. Turns out Randy discovered why when he was looking for a receipt and found a letter in his wife's jacket that explained everything. His wife was having an affair with her sister's husband which started on that first flight to Eureka. Lillian was depressed because the husband broke it off. Trust but verify. Connie felt so sorry for Randy but wondered about Dave and his elation whenever she was away on business. Dave popped back in from washing the Jeep and told Connie, "I just made reservations for tonite at the Disc Drive" their favorite romantic restaurant in town. Connie shook her head and yelled "YES, Dave, you always come through just when I need you the most." But in her mind she felt a little ashamed for even thinking for a second that Dave would do business with a competitor.
