So I found this great indie movie, Give Chance a Piece starring Peggy Lipton, Yvette Mimieux, Delroy Lindo and in her first acting role Kim Clijsters. Peggy & Yvette were friends working in a Marshall's when one day Delroy walked in and started making a pass at Yvette when Peggy said "we have a daughter, did you forget?" Then Kim walks in and Peggy turns to the camera and asks "why isn't Rashida here?" apparently thinking Delroy is her real husband Quincy Jones and the character Kim' is playing is her real daughter Rashida. Instead of cutting, director Angus T Jones senses something cool is happening here and Delroy turns to Peggy and says "so what? you think we all look alike?" And Kim says "did I walk in wrong?" Peggy shakes her head and says "it's these new meds - last night I thought I was Gloria Steinem in a bunny suit". Delroy senses vulnerability and says "darlin' that wasn't the meds it was on PBS last night on the tribute to Hugh Heffner". "Oh thank heaven for 7-11", Peggy rejoiced and Kim started singing O Canada, we stand on cars and freeze . . . When the walk on who was supposed to be buying something at the cash register started dancing the vogue Delroy thought he recognized her from Dancing With The Stars and he put on some moves that sizzled. "Whoa!", the walk on said to him "what do you call THAT combo?" Delroy smiled and answered "just leveraging my secretionary in-CUM" Walk on walks away. When the cop appeared it was obvious no one knew if he was acting or a real cop so the entire ensemble all started singing Give Chance a piece and the camera faded to the roof of the Marshall's where the words all we are saying was spelled out in Hanes No Curl mens briefs, an obvious product placement. I was disappointed that there was no nudity or sex in the flick but the soundtrack included Isaac Stern and Sonic Youth. I'm giving it 4 stars.
