NEW YEAR

The Ben & Judy saga continues. For clarity, Ben met Judy at a workshop almost 3 years ago, picked her out during break, small talked and discovered she was a shrink, took her card and called her a week or so later to make an appointment but had in the back of his mind a plan to ask her out. When he showed up for their first session, he found out she's married and has a daughter close to his age so he he went through the motions and fell in love with her approach instead of her cooch and has been engaged in this point/counterpoint rhythm for dozens of brain-pick showdowns ever since. Today Ben gets a call from Jenny, her daughter to ask how the ruse went and if he's seeing her Mom anytime soon. Ben says "it went jubilantly and I'm seeing Judy today. Why?" Jenny mentions the pottery wheel and Ben hangs up think he'll tape his ear off before starting the WTF? drill down. He arrives at Judy's, she greets him nonchalantly and Ben's game plan dissolves as soon as he sees side boob peekiing from Judy's bib overalls. The woman didn't graduate top of her class in grad school because she was stupid. Ben's crush on her only intensified even though Judy was primarily driven professionally to break Ben the way the horse whisperer breaks a spirited stallion. Judy began what was sure to be a memorable session with an apology for being covered with clay splatters and Ben went along with that. She never even mentioned his Van Gogh ear patch and he never even tried to cover up his intense gaze at her bib. Judy used a quote from Bargains: "If today's sunset was your last sunset, Ben what unfinished desire would you most regret?" Ben hesitated not a second when he said "Missing my true love on the platform of the station of Life". Judy sat back and glared at Ben and said "the train was late - you get a second chance".
