NEW YEAR

Ben's dream from start to finish would elicit cries of "Slit my wrist, please!" if written out in exact detail here, so we'll do the Cliff's Notes version:

A group from 4 different decades in Ben's life are at this gathering and a guy from the late 80s tells Ben that his father (Ben's) contacted him and confirmed that there is a heaven. It's like Earth but there's no day/night distinction, no one sleeps or gets tired, you change locations every time you turn a corner, you don't eat or drink or pee or poop, there's no sex - WAIT . . .NO SEX? you call that heaven? - - - Hold on, Ben the reason it doesn't matter is there's no orgasms but the entire experience in heaven feels like the most intense orgasm every single second. Also, you get to see anyone you want to be with and each happening can seem like a lifetime because there's no time. Then Ben asked his friend if his Dad mentioned him and the friend said "Ben, he will be with you soon and he has so much to tell you then"

"That's when I woke up, Judy because I feel like it was a signal that I'm going to die soon." Judy smiled and said "How much alcohol did you drink yesterday? Ben, we've talked before about the real world relevance of dream details. You are relatively young still, and obviously healthy so why taunt yourself with death fears, Ben?" "Because this dream was different in mood and color than any I've ever had and I only drank a little bit of wine in the middle of the day so I can't just blow this one off". Judy stood up, walked to her bookcase then handed Ben a book she says she recommends, Bargains of the Soul by Jasmine Joan Dallcondine. Ben walked to the car feeling half relieved but curious why Judy thinks a book will give him some answers. Then he laughed a little thinking about the British movie that included a scene when an African guy was brought to the taxi drivers home and he spoke no English so his daughter asked him "Makuna matata?" Well, let's see what this book's about.
