The firm of Hairston & Hairston was open for business in 1912 in Detroit where it manufactured parts used by Hudson Motors in their Twenty and later in the Essex. Roy Hairston wanted all his youth to be a lawyer, hence the firm's name which referred to him & his wife, lacking only the Esq. to fulfill his dream. The concentrating a product line entirely focused on the parking brake mechanism in the Hudson proved fruitful to the Hairstons who were able to raise three children in Grosse Point Park in a lovely victorian with a wrap-around porch.Of their three children, Kate, the oldest had the grandest ambition. She became life partner to a deb named Lois and broke ground in the field of cranial diorama which years later became the blueprint for facial recognition software. Lois eventually relinquished her dabble with gender-neutral affectation and fell in love with a guy who bought Clive Davis' dad's Hudson on eBay and found a note under the floor mat that was written by Roy Hairston:
