Starting life in a hospital in Vaasa doesn't quite prepare one for the life Phyllis is living. She left Finland before she was two but those first seasons in life off the Gulf of Bothnia certainly influenced her becoming a phallic symbol. When she ultimately settled in Lewiston, ME she already had a heralded career posing as a petard in the long running play Jutland - A Cry for Grimace. By now you are questioning how a living being can be dubbed a phallic symbol. Is it the dickhead look? No. Is it a long thin shape with a Prince Valiant hairstyle? Not even close. Phyllis became a phallic symbol because she exuded everything associated with a phallus. The folks in Lewiston couldn't quite come to grips about what it was about her that made them immediately get phallically. But it was her Scandinavian roots that fated her for this role in life. The crescendo in Phyllis' life came when she opened a fortune cookie at The Golden Stool and it said " You will be flaccid". Phyllis crumbled it without a thought but the next time she auditioned for a phallic symbol role, she was blown off without any encouragement. She was an ex-phallic symbol from that moment on. She still lives in Lewiston, dedicated to the preservation of estuaries. Phallic no more.
