NEW YEAR

Frank's was tingling with excitement as the elevator bonged signaling his floor and when the door opened it just might be the start of something stupifying. He walked past the receptionist thanks to the badge hanging from his neck and knocked twice on the door then walked in. The role he was called back for was a guy his age who had some "issues" which the director said she'd clarify at this final audition. After brief hellos and drink order, Frank got the lowdown from noted film director Clarise, probably the smokin'-est director this side of Jaycee Delcosta. He was asked to walk in the room with a limp, and read the lines as if he had braces on his teeth. She stopped him after a few words and suggested he wrap his lips around his teeth so she could close her eyes and picture him and about the limp, she said instead of the stiff leg cliche, move like he was humping while walking. Frank complied and she yelled "chew those words more" which he did and then she said to start the whole thing once more and this time make the humps correlate with each step and she stood up and demonstrated. Frank started to laugh and got control of himself but when he started the walk and his lines he broke up again. And again. And again. He couldn't get the image of this lovely lady walking like a Monty Python skit. Needless to say he didn't get the part.
