NEW YEAR

If it takes almost 32 years to count to one billion if you took a second per number, what makes us think we can begin to understand civilizations on planet earth when there's over 6 billion people? Down from the Mountain was Appalachian music, if it could be categorized, and the harmonies and soulful voices conjure thoughts of dew-wop a cappella over a trash can fire. It's a take on the purpose of life is to mate and interact, blending voices and experience, deflecting differences. My stake in that game is questionable, favoring reclusive over mixing it up public style. Easy to be that way when you spend all of your time with the person who gives you everything you ever wanted or need. Screw the noise outside the gate. It's just that cacophony gets tiresome and avoidable by preference, pitching exclusion over inclusion on a personal basis. Yet the harmonies drive home the truth about the basic need for connection so maybe it's congruency by proxy because I'm thrilled by both. Like the crickets when you're in a tent, the blending of many reaffirms our requirement to understand and be with the universe 'cause the foot sticking out from the covers ensures you'll be bacon 'fore the sun sets tomorrow.
