NEW YEAR

You know you're flyin' in the safe zone when one of your high school buddies reminds you he used to be a pinsetter in a bowling alley. Yes, Miley people used to reset the pins before you bowled your next ball. Luckily, the weirdest job I had was just filling orders for cigarettes, candies and other sundries in a wholesale house located in a tough remote neighborhood. It was a two trolley distance from home and I slept standing up on the ride home from fatigue. Lasted only 3 months before getting my big break to work in an office wearing a tie, delivering mail and filling water pitchers. The big here was working among girls, correction - ladies. It was the Mad Men era and we were. I could do a chapter a day about different ladies that I developed a crush on, but blah-blah-blah, boners, blah blah. It was crimson lined gray flannel. Min-skirts, lunch time gimlets, tight sweaters and a crazy leap from lifting and carrying all day. The daydreaming and fantasizing that went with it lasted until the very last day on the the payroll, which, by the way, found me on the road heading towards Indiana. This is another redux about a beloved 50 year old man who relocated to Indiana and whose daughter replaced all the fantasies with crimson nightie, Marilyn wig and eternal gratification. Capturing old stories is supposed to be cathartic but the quintessential release is what's happening now, just barely ahead of last night's release as per the high reading on the Dichter Scale. They're gutting K-12 and marginalizing college degrees is next. Buddha was on target about rightful.
